Meet Your Instructor
Hi, I’m David Cohen—and I built Path to the Pros to help you land your first job in sports business
I spent 17 years in professional sports, including 16 seasons with the Boston Celtics working across ticket sales, premium, and membership/retention—eventually leading the Member Experience & Retention team.
Over that time, I:
-
Reviewed thousands of resumes and interviewed hundreds of candidates.
-
Hired, trained, and developed early-career professionals into full-time roles.
-
Helped build year-round ticketing and membership strategies generating tens of millions in revenue annually.
I’ve seen up close what separates the candidates who get hired—and what separates the ones who thrive once they’re in the door. It’s rarely just “the person with the most experience."
Path to the Pros is the program I wish I could hand to every student who’s ever asked, “How do I break into sports?”
Now it's yours.
Path to the Pros Is For You If:Â
-
You’re a college student, recent grad, or early-career professional who wants to break into sports business (ticketing, service, marketing, partnerships, analytics, etc.).
-
You want a clear, step-by-step plan—not feeling like you’re piecing everything together on your own.
-
You’re willing to put in consistent effort each week (applications, outreach, networking) and follow the process.
-
You want practical frameworks, scripts, and systems from someone who’s led teams and made hiring decisions inside the NBA.
This Program Is Probably NOT For You If:
-
You’re looking for guarantees (“get hired in 30 days”). I won’t promise what I can’t control.
-
You’re only interested in on-court and on-field roles (coaching, scouting, player ops).
-
You’re not willing to take action—and prefer to just watch videos and hope it works.
-
You don’t want to follow a proven plan and would rather figure it out through trial and error.
Frequently Asked Questions
How Long Do I Get Access?
Lifetime. Once you join, you keep access to all modules, tools, and future updates.
Can you guarantee I’ll get a job in sports?
No—and no honest program can. What I can do is give you the playbook, tools, resources, and repeatable systems that help candidates stand out in a competitive industry. Your effort + this roadmap = dramatically better odds.
How long does it take to complete the course?
It’s self-paced. You can watch the lessons quickly, but the real progress comes from implementing the action items. Some students build momentum in a few weeks; others take a few months depending on experience, schedule, and the job market.
How much time will this take each week?
Plan for 5–7 focused hours per week. That includes watching lessons, tailoring your resume/LinkedIn, tracking applications and outreach, networking, and taking real-world action.
How many modules are included?
The course includes 7 core modules. Modules 0–2 are available now. Modules 3–7 are in post-production and will be released weekly.
What exactly is included when I enroll?
You’ll get immediate access to Modules 0–2 (including the downloadable tools and templates included in those modules), plus community access and weekly live Q&A. As Modules 3–7 are released weekly, they’ll be added to your library automatically.
What if I can’t make the live Q&A calls?
No problem. Every Q&A is recorded, and you can submit questions ahead of time and watch the replay.
I’m still in school. Is now too early?
Not at all. Starting early is a huge advantage—you can build relationships, land internships, and develop experience long before graduation.
What if I have little to no experience?
That’s common. The program includes strategies for building relevant experience through internships, part-time roles, campus opportunities, volunteering, and proof-of-work—so you can strengthen your resume while you apply.
Do IÂ need a Sports Management degree to work in sports?
No. A Sports Management degree can help, but it’s not required. Many people break in from other majors and backgrounds—the key is positioning, experience, and relationships.
Is This Only For Ticket Sales Roles?
No. Path to the Pros covers multiple sports business paths—ticketing, service, marketing, partnerships/sponsorship, and analytics. The frameworks apply across departments.
Is this only for people in the U.S.?
No. The frameworks apply globally. Many examples reference U.S. leagues (NBA, NHL, etc.), but the principles work across sports markets.
Is There A Guarantee?
Yes. There is a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you’re not satisfied, email me within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.
